About the role
The Equity Administrator will oversee the day-to-day management of Instructure’s equity programs, including administering grants, managing the grant and approval process, and providing support for equity-related questions.
Responsibilities
- Administer equity programs and grants
- Manage the equity grant and approval process from start to finish
- Prepare grant recommendations, route awards for approval, and process new grants, vesting, exercises, releases, and terminations
- Oversee daily equity operations
- Maintain accurate participant, grant, and vesting records for all award types in the stock plan system
- Serve as the primary point of contact for equity questions from employees, executives, and internal partners
- Support participant communications and education
- Maintain equity program controls and documentation, ensuring awards are administered in line with plan documents and approvals
- Own and maintain the equity administration system (Shareworks), ensuring data integrity and configuring the platform for grants, vesting, and reporting
- Produce equity reports for stakeholders, including grant activity, vesting schedules, and participant-level detail
- Prepare data for audits, filings, and disclosures
- Support the monthly and quarterly stock-based compensation accounting process, including expense schedules, reconciliations, and workpapers, in partnership with accounting leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in an equity-related role
- Experience with equity administration systems (Shareworks preferred)
- Experience managing grant and approval workflows and processing equity transactions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support employees across the organization
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Working understanding of stock-based compensation accounting concepts, with strong attention to detail and comfort reconciling data to supporting records
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Experience with equity administration software (Shareworks preferred)
- Knowledge of SEC regulations and accounting standards related to equity compensation
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with financial modeling and analysis
