Administrator (LNHA)

About the role

The Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and operation of the facility, reporting to the Regional Manager. This role ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, delivers high-quality resident care, manages financial performance, and fosters a culture of excellence among staff. The LNHA serves as the primary liaison between residents, families, staff, and regulatory agencies, ensuring the facility meets its mission and goals while maintaining the highest standards of care, safety, dignity, and respect for residents.

Responsibilities

• Directs, plans, and coordinates all administrative, clinical, and support operations of the facility.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care operations.
• Develops, monitors, and manages the facility’s budget, ensuring financial stability and cost efficiency.
• Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and manages staff to foster professional growth and accountability.
• Promotes resident-centered care, ensuring all services meet the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
• Serves as the facility’s representative during inspections, surveys, and audits by regulatory bodies.
• Maintains effective communication and relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners.
• Oversees safety, quality assurance, and performance improvement programs.
• Implements policies and procedures to ensure resident satisfaction, employee engagement, and overall operational excellence.
• Responds promptly to resident or family concerns, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Completes assignments and tasks assigned by the Regional Manager as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Current and active State Nursing Home Administrator License required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in long-term care, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance, financial management, and staff leadership.
• Moderate level of computer literacy to use and access facility systems and tools for online tasks and documentation.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact professionally with staff and residents.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting, bending, and carrying items up to 20 pounds with one hand.
• Ability to move throughout the facility to monitor operations, meet with residents, families, and staff, and respond to emergencies.
• Must maintain physical and mental stamina to work in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
