Equipment Mechanics & Diesel Technicians

About the role

We are seeking skilled Equipment Mechanics and Diesel Technicians to support maintenance, repair, and operation of fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and pavement preservation machinery. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled, preventive, and emergency repairs on fleet vehicles, trailers, and construction equipment
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair engines and mechanical systems
• Perform safety and DOT inspections, read schematics, and maintain accurate work records
• Operate tools, diagnostic, welding equipment, and support parts procurement
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support field operations from shop or service trucks as needed

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in diesel repair, equipment or fleet maintenance, or related fields
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
• Valid driver’s license; CDL-A and tanker endorsement preferred
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
