About the role

We are seeking skilled Equipment Mechanics and Diesel Technicians to support maintenance, repair, and operation of fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and pavement preservation machinery. The position involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on various vehicles and equipment used in construction and pavement preservation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency repairs on fleet and construction equipment
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Conduct safety and DOT inspections, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
  • Read manuals, schematics, and work orders to maintain and repair equipment
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist with parts procurement and inventory
  • Operate diagnostic, welding, and maintenance tools safely and effectively
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Support field operations from shop, active job sites, or service trucks
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum two years' experience in diesel repair, equipment maintenance, or related fields
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; CDL-A and tanker endorsement preferred
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain tools
  • Safety-focused and mechanically inclined
