Equipment Mechanics & Diesel Technicians

About the role

This position involves maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and pavement preservation machinery to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency repairs on various vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Inspect, rebuild, and maintain equipment such as loaders, rollers, pavers, trucks, and trailers.
• Conduct safety and DOT inspections, adhere to regulatory standards, and maintain accurate work records.
• Assist with parts procurement, operate tools and diagnostic equipment, and ensure a clean work environment.
• Support field operations by working in shops, active job sites, or from service trucks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of experience in diesel repair, equipment maintenance, or related fields.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL-A and tanker endorsement preferred.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and use necessary tools and software.
