Equipment Mechanics & Diesel Technicians

About the role

We are seeking skilled Equipment Mechanics and Diesel Technicians to maintain, repair, and operate fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and pavement preservation machinery. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing preventive and emergency repairs on various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC systems. Mechanics may work in shop settings, on active job sites, or from service trucks supporting field operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled, preventative, and emergency repairs on fleet and construction equipment
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Conduct inspections, maintain equipment readiness, and complete work orders
• Assist with parts procurement, inventory management, and operate diagnostic and maintenance tools
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance through inspections and safe work practices
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• At least 2 years of experience in diesel repair, equipment maintenance, or related fields
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across various systems
• Valid driver’s license; CDL-A and tanker endorsement preferred
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to provide necessary tools for repairs
