About the role
We are seeking skilled Equipment Mechanics and Diesel Technicians responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and pavement preservation machinery. The position may involve working in a shop, on active job sites, or supporting field operations from service trucks.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled, preventative, and emergency repairs on vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components
- Conduct safety and DOT inspections, ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Maintain detailed records, assist with parts procurement, and operate tools and diagnostic systems safely
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and support additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- At least two years of experience in diesel repair, equipment maintenance, or related field
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Valid driver’s license; CDL-A and tanker endorsement preferred
- Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain necessary tools
