Equipment Design Engineer

About the role

Seeking an experienced engineer to lead the development of manufacturing solutions for new vehicle models, focusing on Body in White construction and Weld equipment. Responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, creating strategies and specifications, overseeing design and process validation, and ensuring successful delivery of production-ready equipment. The role involves managing multiple projects, providing technical guidance, and supporting root cause analysis for manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility and verification studies for new model weld equipment
• Develop specifications and process plans for equipment
• Provide technical oversight during design and production phases
• Support complex problem analysis and corrective actions
• Influence future development methods and processes
• Manage multiple projects
• Provide technical guidance to team members
• Ensure successful delivery of production-ready equipment

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of engineering experience with expertise in equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes
• Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of Body in White construction
• Experience with Honda production facilities preferred
• Ability to mentor less experienced engineers
• Willingness to work on the production floor and travel as needed
