Equipment Design Engineer

About the role

This position involves working within a multidisciplinary team to introduce and implement equipment for new model production. Using 3D CAD and simulation tools, the individual will identify design change points, create specifications, and drive projects from inception to final design and assembly. The role emphasizes collaboration with design and manufacturing teams to meet quality, cost, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop new machine concepts based on engineering principles for process improvements.
• Act as a subject matter expert supporting project leadership and engineering correlation with external suppliers.
• Lead medium to large projects from an engineering perspective, including detailed process studies and creating scope documentation.
• Independently lead process improvements and mentor team members.
• Maintain project schedules to ensure timely milestones.

Qualifications & Skills

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience are required.
• Deep knowledge of 3D CAD software, automated equipment development, and excellent technical communication skills are essential.

Work Conditions

The role involves primarily office work with some manufacturing floor support, requiring travel to various facilities and vendors.
