Equipment Design Engineer

Role Overview This position involves leading engineering development of solutions and early planning for Product, Process, and Tooling to enhance manufacturing characteristics. The role requires managing multiple projects, overseeing and mentoring engineers, and ensuring technical excellence in equipment and process specifications. Key Responsibilities Lead feasibility studies for Body Frame Weld equipment from styling sketches to initial drawings, reporting content to leadership.Verify manufacturing equipment requirements and oversee drawing maturation across North American functions.Develop specifications and process plans for Weld Equipment, providing technical guidance to ensure successful design and production.Support problem analysis, root cause determination, and corrective actions in manufacturing processes.Research future development methods and influence process improvements.Mentor and coach less experienced engineers. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.5+ years of engineering experience, with expertise in Equipment/Tool New Model development and Honda manufacturing facilities preferred.Strong problem-solving skills, deep knowledge of Body in White construction, and familiarity with Honda’s development processes. Additional Requirements: Willingness to work on the production floor and travel up to 10%.
