Job Summary

Functions under the direction of the Application Manager, the Epic Application Analyst, HIM Hospital Coding provides intermediate system-level support of multi-user clinical and financial applications, operating systems, hardware, software, and reporting tools, including installation, configuration, training, maintenance, and support of these systems. Requires intermediate knowledge of systems analysis. Comprehensive knowledge of project management concepts and methodology. Able to lead and participate in project planning sessions. Ability to establish project goals, milestones, and procedures. Able to manage projects with varying levels of complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Takes care of responsibilities and work efforts without being asked to do so.

  • Leads the team to set and meet team goals.
  • Adapts to change in the performance of duties.

  • Bridges gaps between clinical and IT teams.
  • Works with outside departments to promote, educate and train on current applications.
  • Works with other members of the Xtensys staff, clinical and operational departments and other Xtensys team members to accomplish the goals established for the project.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in technology and/or healthcare or related industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment by accepting and offering constructive feedback and supporting team goals.
  • Ability to multitask and complete assigned tasks independently with minimal guidance with close attention to detail, and ability to offer some guidance to other team members.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems and offer solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of application support.
  • Ability to serve as a primary resource for at least 1 application module.
  • Ability to gather, translate, and communicate business or clinical requirements into technical solutions for application implementation.

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Information Technology is preferred.
  • HIM Hospital Coding Certification is required.

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.
