About the role
We are seeking an Environmental Services Manager to support housekeeping operations within a 450-bed acute care hospital environment. In this role, you will assist in overseeing daily environmental services operations, manage and develop frontline associates, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and help deliver a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Schedule: Full time; primarily Monday through Friday, day shift with rotating weekends. More details are available upon interview.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services department
- Supervise, coach, and develop department associates while promoting a culture of accountability and service excellence
- Coordinate housekeeping activities across hospital departments to support operational needs
- Monitor departmental financial performance, expenses, and budget adherence
- Establish and maintain work standards, productivity expectations, and workflow processes
- Implement and support departmental policies, procedures, and quality initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hospital, regulatory, infection prevention, and safety standards
- Partner with hospital leadership and department managers to address service needs and enhance patient satisfaction
- Support staff training, engagement, recognition, and performance management efforts
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer service
- Participate in achieving facility goals and departmental performance objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience is required
- Environmental Services or Housekeeping experience
- Acute care hospital or long-term care experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with budgeting, expense management, and operational performance metrics
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CRCST or other applicable sterile processing certification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet applications
