About the role
Bergey’s Inc. is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Parts Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive the parts they need promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Ships and receives all incoming orders and parts in a timely manner.
- Sells parts to all customers, over the counter, through the shop or on the phone.
- Performs deliveries to wholesale customers.
- Checks in stock orders and special orders daily.
- Assembles and prepares orders for shipment and delivery.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, reject damaged items, records shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet requirements.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials according to orders.
- Aids all customers (retail, wholesale, and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
- Answers phone calls, provides price quotes, and other information.
- Provides high-level service to internal and external customers.
- Pulls and fills orders from stock.
- Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Locates out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
- Notifies the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
- Pulls orders for delivery to body shops, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
- Follows up on back-ordered parts.
- Aid outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on repair orders.
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
- Ensure that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
- Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
- Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
- Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
- Clean computer terminals and printers daily.
- Participate in all training programs that are made available.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in automotive, truck, or tire industry preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
