Supported by a 24/7 in-house call center, we provide scheduled maintenance and unscheduled services to fleets anywhere, anytime.

About the role

Cox Fleet is proud to announce open enrollment into our next FleeTec Academy class—a paid educational program designed to train and transition individuals into full-time Diesel Technicians. FleeTec Academy provides free technical education, hands-on training, and a pathway to a career as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic. As a Mobile Technician, you will be assigned a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations, ensuring their fleets run efficiently without needing shop visits.

Program Details

  • 4 weeks of paid, full-time classroom training at our Academy Campus (travel expenses, hotel accommodations, meal stipend, and paycheck provided).
  • Free technical education on diesel engines and truck repair fundamentals, including a set of hand tools with a toolbox.
  • After classroom training, you’ll be paired with a Lead Technician in your market for hands-on training and offered a full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic.
  • Ongoing classroom study sessions to further develop your skills over a multi-year program.
  • Upon successful completion, you’ll earn the title of Diesel Technician and keep the tools provided.

Pay

  • $13.08/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater) + $250/week stipend (taxed) during initial training.
  • $19/hour after the first 6 weeks of employment.
  • Second 4-week classroom phase in Indianapolis at $19/hour + $250/week stipend (taxed).
  • $21/hour upon graduation from the program.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Diesel Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard and dedicate 4 weeks away from home for full-time training.
  • Maturity and focus to treat the program as the start of a career, not a casual opportunity.
  • Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be 21 years or older to drive company vehicles.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass background checks, driving record checks, pre-employment drug testing, and a physical.
