Entry Level Diesel Mechanic
Position
FleeTec Academy is a paid educational program designed to help individuals enter the Diesel & Trailer Maintenance field. It offers free technical education, tools, and a stipend to support students while they learn the fundamentals of diesel engines and repair techniques.
About the Role
This program provides a unique opportunity for individuals to gain valuable skills and knowledge in diesel mechanics without the financial burden of traditional education. Participants will receive hands-on training from experienced technicians and be eligible for a full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic upon completion.
Responsibilities
- Full-time classroom training at the academy campus
- Travel expenses and accommodation paid by the company
- Weekly stipend for meals
- Hands-on training with a lead technician
- Opportunities for further classroom study and skill development
- Full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic after successful completion of the program
Requirements
- Willingness to study hard
- Ability to dedicate four weeks away from home
- Maturity level to focus on the task at hand
- Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles
- Ability to operate an iPad
- Age 21 to drive company trucks
- A High-School Diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
The program is open to individuals who desire to start a career as a Diesel & Trailer Technician and are willing to commit to the rigorous training and responsibilities involved.
Skills
Participants will develop essential skills in diesel engine repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. They will also gain proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Pay
- $13.36/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater)
- $250/wk stipend (taxed)
- $19/hour after 6 weeks
- + $1/hour upon graduation
Schedule
The program includes four weeks of full-time classroom training, followed by hands-on training with a lead technician, and ongoing opportunities for further study and skill development.
