About the role
Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is offering a paid educational program called FleeTec Academy to help individuals enter the Diesel Maintenance field. The program provides free technical education on diesel engines and tools to get started, along with hands-on training by experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
- Full-time Diesel Technician position
- Preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations
- Assigned to a state-of-the-art vehicle with all the latest technology

Requirements
- Desire to start a career as a Diesel Technician
- Willingness and ability to study hard
- Maturity level to focus on the task at hand
- Technical aptitude and passion for fixing vehicles
- Ability to operate an iPad
- Must be 21 to drive company trucks
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Qualifications
- Passing background checks
- Valid driver's license
- Pre-employment drug test
- Physical fitness assessment

Benefits
- Weekly stipend of $250 (taxed)

Pay
- $13.72/hour (or state minimum wage, whichever is greater)
- $19/hour after 6 weeks
- $21/hour upon graduation
Schedule
The program consists of four weeks of full-time classroom training, followed by hands-on training with a Lead Technician, and eventually a full-time job as a Mobile Diesel Mechanic.
