About the role

Medcor is hiring an EMT, Paramedic, or LPN on a PRN (as-needed) basis to work as an Onsite Health Technician in an employer-based, occupational health clinic in Middletown, CT. The clinic operates Monday - Friday from 3:00pm-11:00pm. Since this is on an as-needed basis, there are no guaranteed hours. If you have availability to pick up occasional shifts, you are invited to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure
  • Provide patient care, ongoing workers’ compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, and treatment plan monitoring
  • Work closely with outside medical providers
  • Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
  • Deliver superior customer service to Medcor’s clients and employees
  • Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships
  • Support onsite employee health and wellness efforts
  • Conduct pre-employment and post-offer screenings
  • Document care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
  • Perform Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
  • Manage case documentation, medical charting, and OSHA record-keeping

Requirements

  • Valid licensure for the position (EMT, Paramedic, or LPN)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Strong computer and technology skills (e.g., cell phones, texting, fax machines, EMR software)
  • Ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive and outgoing personality
  • Passion for people and delivering high-quality care
  • Willingness to go above and beyond
  • Ability to have fun in the workplace

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment
  • Relevant occupational health experience
  • Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
