EMT, Paramedic, or LPN (PRN)
Medcor is looking to hire an EMT, Paramedic, or LPN on a PRN basis (as-needed) to be an Onsite Health Technician in our employer-based, occupational health clinic in Indianapolis, IN. Shifts are available 7 days per week, including day, evening, and night schedules. Since this is on an as-needed basis, there are no guaranteed hours.
About the role
Are you an EMT or Paramedic looking to use your skills outside EMS? Are you an ER nurse looking to pick up extra shifts in a clinic setting? This role involves collaborative work with medical and operational leadership at Medcor, local medical providers, client staff, and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure. The day-to-day responsibilities include patient care, workers’ compensation case management, Return to Work (RTW) program facilitation, and treatment plan monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
- Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
- Assess and treat workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
- Build and maintain internal team relationships
- Support onsite employee health and wellness efforts
- Conduct pre-employment and post-offer screenings
- Document care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
- Perform Physical Assessment Testing (PATs)
- Manage workers’ compensation cases
- Handle medical charting and OSHA record-keeping
- Work closely with outside medical providers
Requirements
- Valid licensure as an EMT, Paramedic, or LPN
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong computer and technology skills (e.g., cell phones, texting, fax machines, EMR software)
- Ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive and outgoing personality
- Passion for patient care and advocacy
- Willingness to go above and beyond
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a worksite clinic environment
- Relevant occupational health experience
- Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
