About the role

Cooley LLP seeks an Employment & Labor Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join their team in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Santa Monica offices. The ideal candidate will have experience in case development, legal research and writing, discovery, witness interviews or investigations, and brief writing. They should also demonstrate strong employment counseling skills, including advising on employment policies and practices, statutory and regulatory compliance, and employment and separation agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage cases
  • Conduct legal research and writing
  • Manage discovery processes
  • Interview witnesses or conduct investigations
  • Write legal briefs
  • Provide employment counseling advice
  • Advising clients on employment policies and practices
  • Ensure compliance with statutes and regulations
  • Prepare and review employment and separation agreements

Requirements

Candidates must have current admission to the California bar. Experience as a recent law school graduate or with less than one full year of experience is not acceptable for this position. Applications from search agencies are not accepted for candidates coming off a clerkship or with less than a full year of experience.

Pay

The expected annual pay range for this position is $235,000 - $365,000. Final offer amounts will be determined based on geographic location, experience, and skillset of the candidate.
