Job Description Summary

The Employee Health nurse is a nurse who works to ensure the health and wellness of employees for a company or organization. Your duties in this career include management of Worker's Comp cases, performing pre-employment testing, drawing blood for lab work, providing essential medical services in the workplace, and operating a wellness education program for employees. The Employee Health nurse works closely with HR and the Clinical Leadership team, and may also work with other departments, such as Quality and Safety, to create an infection control plan and monitor vaccination compliance.

About the Role

This position provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). It involves directing and leading other assigned team members and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. The role focuses on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Manages Worker's Comp cases

Requirements

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification for most nursing areas within the hospital

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Experience with patient care documentation
