Registered Nurse II - Employee Health

About the role

The Employee Health nurse provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They direct and lead other assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focuses on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
• Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model.
• Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care management principles.
• Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Minimum Training and Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required for most nursing areas within the hospital.

• Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors, working outside in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, working in confined/cramped spaces, performing job functions from kneeling positions, bending at the waist, twisting at the waist, squatting, performing "pinching" operations, performing gross motor activities with fingers and hands, performing firm grasping with fingers and hands, performing fine manipulation with fingers and hands, reaching overhead, performing repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, fully using both legs, using lower extremities for balance and coordination, reaching in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, lifting/lowering objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs., exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, determining distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, maintaining hearing acuity, with correction, performing gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements, dealing effectively with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, working overtime as required, working in a latex safe environment, maintaining tactile sensory functions, maintaining good olfactory sensory function, being qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
