Emergency Response Dispatcher
Specific Responsibilities
- Handles PBX functions and emergency communications during medical, facility, security, and weather-related events.
- Serves as the first point of contact for emergencies and the general public seeking information.
- Answers, documents, and dispatches all incoming emergency line calls according to established protocols.
- Follows specific procedures for individual facilities and initiates notifications via Emergency Notification System, overhead paging, etc.
- Conducts overhead page announcements per established protocols.
- Ascertains the request of callers and accurately routes the call.
- Maintains surveillance of various alarm systems and responds accordingly per established protocols.
- Reports any detected irregularities from monitored systems to the appropriate personnel.
- Responds to after-hours calls for covered practices and pages staff and providers as needed.
- Performs other call center answering and call routing functions as necessary.
- Available for on-call shifts and mandatory overtime as necessary.
- Responds to alternative work locations during emergency events to maintain continuity of call center operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- Prior experience in a call center preferred.
- Computer and data entry proficiency preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Physical requirements include ongoing need to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, manual dexterity for complex and delicate equipment, sitting for extended periods, lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs, hearing, seeing, and speaking ability, and responding and handling audible and visual alarms.

About the Role
The call center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week at one of several Intermountain locations. The dispatcher supports a centralized 24-hour call center for specific facilities experiencing medical, facility, security, or weather-related emergency events.
Requirements
Must be able to respond to alternative work locations during emergency events to maintain the continuity of call center operations.
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $18.85 - $25.61, with actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
Schedule
PRN/Variable Hours (days, evenings, weekends, holidays).
