Emergency Services Dispatcher

About the role

The City of Pueblo is seeking individuals to join their Emergency Services team as Emergency Services Dispatchers.

Responsibilities

• First point of contact with the public via emergency 911 phone lines and non-emergency phone lines.
• Obtain and relay critical information from callers, including those who may be injured, confused, angered, hysterical, frightened, or abused.
• Communicate effectively to dispatch city police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services on emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Provide support and guidance during challenging moments for the public.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Kansas driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Knowledge of emergency response protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service or emergency response role preferred.
• Experience with dispatch software systems.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

• Annual salary range: $55,906.80 - $72,573.48.
