Emergency Dispatcher
Job Summary
Via Christi Hospital St. Francis is seeking a qualified individual to join our Ground Transport team as a Dispatcher. This position is PRN and operates on a 12-hour shift schedule.
About the Role
This role involves receiving and responding to emergency and non-emergency telephone and radio calls for medical assistance. The successful candidate will also dispatch emergency units and coordinate air medical flights as needed.
Responsibilities
- Respond to calls in a time-sensitive manner
- Maintain documentation of calls and physician/service referrals for legal, medical, and statistical purposes
- Follow up with referring entities for ease of access, marketing, evaluation, and quality improvement
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable
Qualifications
- Prior EMS experience or 911 Emergency Dispatch experience is preferred
