Emergency Dispatcher

About the role

Contract position for a Police Dispatcher working remotely. Commitment ranges from 10 to 40 hours per week. Compensation is $30 – $65 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and triage incoming requests with precision under high-pressure, time-sensitive conditions.
• Monitor and manage multiple communication channels simultaneously, including radio, phone, and digital platforms.
• Apply APCO or NENA protocols to assess, record, and route incidents in accordance with documented procedures.
• Provide clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal responses during fast-paced emergency scenarios.
• Deliver detailed feedback regarding incident handling, decision-making, and escalation processes for AI model evaluation.
• Assist in scenario development by outlining typical and edge-case dispatch situations and recommended response protocols.
• Review and annotate transcripts or incident logs to ensure fidelity and clarity for training data sets.

Requirements

• Strong relevant experience in emergency communications as a police dispatcher or coordinator.
• Demonstrated expertise in prioritization, multitasking, and rapid decision-making in high-stress environments.
• APCO and/or NENA certification strongly preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and professionalism.
• Familiarity with dispatch protocols, CAD systems, and modern emergency communication technologies.
• Experience documenting and communicating procedures for training or quality assurance purposes.
