About the role

Emergency dispatchers answer calls to the emergency number (911, 999, 112, 000, and equivalents around the world) and coordinate the response of police, fire, and medical services. The work involves assessing emergencies in seconds from often panicked callers, prioritizing, dispatching the right help, giving life-saving instructions over the phone, and managing multiple crises at once. They work in emergency communications centers.

The role suits exceptionally calm, fast-thinking people who can extract critical information under intense pressure, make split-second decisions, and provide a steady, reassuring presence to people experiencing the worst moments of their lives.
