Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) - PRN, Variable

Role Overview: Provides advanced pre-hospital emergency care, including patient assessment, airway management, medication administration, and intravenous therapy. Responds to emergency and non-emergency situations, collaborating with healthcare professionals and ensuring accurate documentation of patient care. Key Responsibilities Assess, treat, and transport patients following established protocols.Perform advanced airway management and oxygen therapy within scope of practice.Operate emergency vehicles safely, adhering to traffic laws and policies.Maintain precise and timely patient care reports and documentation.Engage in ongoing education and training to sustain licensure and improve skills.Collaborate with healthcare, law enforcement, and other agencies during responses.Ensure all equipment, supplies, and vehicles are properly maintained and ready for use.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.At least one year of EMT experience; Basic EMT-B experience preferred.Provisional EMT-Advanced certification from EMS COMPACT or ability to obtain state and national certifications within 12 months.Valid EMT-Advanced certification, BLS (CPR), and a valid driver’s license.Basic computer skills, knowledge of patient care and office equipment, and proficiency in clinical skills.Strong decision-making, stress management, and compliance with standards. Additional Details: This non-management role reports to a supervisor and involves variable shifts. It requires maintaining certifications and participating in mandatory training. The position is located at the Oconee Medical Campus within the Ambulance Services department.
