Emergency Department Patient Access Registrar

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting patients, verifying insurance, and collecting co-pays
• Registering patients by gathering demographics and health information
• Using electronic systems to ensure accurate data entry and verification
• Responding to patient inquiries with compassion and professionalism
• Generating and reviewing patient data reports, maintaining knowledge of registration requirements

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare or similar setting
• Ability to work onsite in an emergency department environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., Epic)
• Knowledge of insurance procedures, medical terminology, and financial verification
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic math skills
