Electrical Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Cooking and coordinating engineering studies, change orders, and estimates.
  • Preparing submittals and requests for information.
  • Working with owners and clients on specifications and technical questions.
  • Coordinating with owners or clients on project planning.
  • Coordinating with regional managers on project statuses.
  • Creating subcontracts and POS.
  • Tracking job costs and predicting monthly revenue streams.
  • Managing Quality Assurance/Quality Control on projects.
  • Identifying, researching, and resolving contract disputes with the Owner.
  • Maintaining prime contracts with the Owner or Client.
  • Establishing monthly billing procedures with the Owner or Client.
  • Maintaining job cost control, which is reported monthly.
  • Reviewing general conditions costs on a monthly basis.
  • Approving material and subcontractor invoices for payment.
  • Issuing change orders to subcontractors.
  • Aiding in the management of bid turnarounds and project startups.
  • Supporting project teams during on-site job walkthroughs, change order requests, and pay application support.
  • Maintaining and managing online project document postings using Bluebeam Studio and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Developing and procuring product data submittals and shop drawings for approval.
  • Managing Requests for Information (RFIs) submission, tracking, response evaluation, and implementation.
  • Maintaining and distributing project documents.
  • Supporting the monthly billing process, including jobsite walks, status evaluations, coordination with the client, and monitoring of billing and cost data.
  • Evaluating construction methods and determining cost-effectiveness of plans and actual work.
  • Taking actions to address delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites.
  • Implementing and monitoring quality control programs on projects.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety and environmental policies of the Company and project owners.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with peers at clients, architectural and engineering firms, and trade partners.
  • Managing the closeout and commissioning process, tracking subcontractors/vendors, and ensuring timely submission of project closeout documentation.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of electrical experience/knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer with Commercial, Institutional projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of NECA codes and TIA standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, materials, means & methods, etc.), and understanding of Company and industry practices, processes, and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint), Bluebeam, ChangeOrder, and Accubid, or other estimation software, and BOS (Berg Operating System).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to represent the company image.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • BS in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of electrical experience/knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer with Commercial, Institutional projects.
  • Experience preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders.
  • Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of NECA codes and TIA standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC and NFPA codes.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, materials, means & methods, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint), Bluebeam, ChangeOrder, and Accubid, or other estimation software, and BOS (Berg Operating System).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and project success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
