Project Manager Assistant
Overview
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will assist the Project Manager in managing the project life cycle process on assigned projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Aid in project pricing, budgeting, and estimating.
- Manage subcontractors/vendors and project schedules.
- Coordinate safety meetings and incident investigations.
- Assist in project execution, including HVAC and plumbing installations.
- Participate in meetings and prepare vendor/subcontractor documents.
- Contribute to project close-out and commissioning requirements.
Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by:
- Coordinating safety meetings and investigations.
- Maintaining employee involvement in safety initiatives.
- Installation of HVAC and plumbing.
- Ensuring compliance with codes and project requirements.
- Project timelines and budgets.
- Operation, corporate, and departmental meetings.
- Monthly reports and cost reviews.
- Preparations of vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings.
- Estimating change orders and project documentation.
- Project close-out activities, including commissioning requirements.
- Developing a skillset for progression in the mechanical industry.
- Managing the project life cycle to meet project goals.
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.
- 0-2 years' experience in the industry.
- Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle various ongoing projects.
- Strong knowledge of the industry and Company's competitors.
- Excellent multitasking skills.
- PREFERRED:
- Experience in processing submittals.
- Experience in heavy commercial construction.
- Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination.
- Climbing stairs.
- Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving between worksites.
- Quiet environment.
- Noisy environment.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Hr.
