About the role

The EDI Operations Specialist supports new trading partners and develops/update EDI procedures. Key responsibilities include interpreting customer EDI data requirements, facilitating system integrations, troubleshooting daily issues, preparing shipping schedules, communicating with customers, tracking material orders, assembling shipping documents, and rotating to various positions.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily backlog report and write job orders for all new orders.
  • Check for adequate inventory to complete orders and shipments.
  • Work with Materials Manager to set order priorities for on-time shipments to customers.
  • Prepare a shipping schedule for the shipping department daily.
  • Communicate regularly with customers to adjust schedules as needed.
  • Enter daily production for assigned products.
  • Ensure purchased materials are ordered, shipped, and delivered to meet build requirements while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Use information systems to track and plan for material, inventory, and shipping.
  • May prepare receiving reports and note record shortages and damaged materials.
  • May communicate with customers daily to expedite, stop, or change the delivery/shipping of materials.
  • May rotate to various positions within the job function area to perform related activities.
  • Follow and utilize principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment as a planner/scheduler.
  • 3+ years’ experience working on an ERP system preferred.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
