About the role
Multi-skilled caregiver working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care including vital signs, 12-lead EKG, bedside blood sugar testing, wound care, oral suctioning, splint application, and patient instruction.
- Perform aseptic procedures such as catheterization, sterile tray prep, dressing changes, and phlebotomy.
- Operate cardiac and pulse oximetry monitors, ensuring accurate recognition of arrhythmias.
- Transport patients, supplies, equipment, and medications.
- Monitor patients in restraint/seclusion, document observations, and respond to escalations.
- Maintain proper stocking of supplies and ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with environmental rounds and troubleshoot telesitter connectivity issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of monitors and equipment.
- Adhere to safety policies and perform other duties to ensure quality patient care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- BLS certification required upon hire.
- Effective communication skills and proficiency with computers.
- Ability to work in a team and collect manual vital signs.
