Echocardiograph Technologist - Per Diem Day
About the role
Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes a variety of complex ultrasound equipment to perform cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders.
- Identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Aids physicians in more invasive echocardiography examinations, including Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures, pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies, contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography.
- Modifies procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.
- Complies with the standards set forth by the American Society of Echocardiography and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Upon hire: Oregon Sonographer
- Upon hire: National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Upon hire: National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International
- Upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Applied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- 1 year Experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, OR Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
- Pediatric echocardiography experience.
- Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
- Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures (St. Vincent Medical Center).

Has the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
