About the Role
InReach needs a Direct Support Professional (DSP) (Independent Contractor) for a young male individual with developmental disabilities in the Union County area of Waxhaw, NC. Staff will provide Community Living and Support Services with approximately 24 hours every other weekend. This position is for every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, and all services will be performed in the home.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help the individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitor dosages.
- Transport and accompany the individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check.
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population preferred.
Schedule
Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, every other weekend.
Pay
Community Living and Support (CLS) Services at $20.35 per hour.

Additional Information
This DSP position is an Independent Contractor role. Independent Contractors receive a 1099 tax form and use a third-party Contract Management vendor for direct deposits. Additional fees for Contractors include paying for state-required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and administrative fees for the Contract Management vendor.
