About the Role
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) (Independent Contractor) to provide respite services for a young adult male individual with developmental disabilities in Concord, NC (Cabarrus County). This position offers approximately 15-20 hours per week with a very flexible and negotiable schedule.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday: early to mid-day afternoons
- Weekends: flexible hours on Saturday and Sunday
Pay
Respite services pay rate: $16.07 per hour.
This DSP position is an Independent Contractor role. Independent Contractors receive a 1099 tax form and use a third-party Contract Management vendor for direct deposits. Additional fees for Contractors include state-required training, Occupational Accident Insurance, and administrative fees for the Contract Management vendor.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction and assistance in home living environments
- Help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles
- Facilitate community integration
- Help the individual develop healthy social habits
- Dispense medication and monitor dosages
- Transport and accompany the individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population preferred
