Driver Apprentice - City

Position Overview This role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and straight trucks, through education and skills development. It includes non-driving duties such as forklift operation and dock work. Key Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailer units safely, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspectionsHook/unhook trailers and convertor dolliesHandle freight using motorized/manual equipment like forklifts and pallet jacksSecure freight, repair damaged cargo, and complete documentationManage freight charges and ensure compliance with hazard material regulationsCommunicate with dispatch and customers, assist with additional duties as neededFollow all laws, regulations, and company policies Qualifications & Skills Class A CDL or CLP, acceptable Motor Vehicle RecordKnowledge of DOT regulations, basic math, and communication skillsPhysical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, perform trailer hookups, and work independently or in a team Working Conditions: Drive in varied weather, exposure to noise, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Flexibility in hours is required.
