Drain Service Technician
Responsibilities
- Use skills to solve sewer and drain problems.
- Diagnose problems and provide cost estimates.
- Unclog and clean sewers and drains using Roto-Rooter equipment.
- Document estimates and invoices, both in writing and electronically.
- Collect payment and move on to the next service call.

- Effective communication skills.
- A mechanical aptitude is desirable, but prior experience is not necessary.

First year Roto-Rooter drain service technicians can expect top-pay, earning $55,000, on average. Pay increases quickly with each year of experience, earning on average between $60,000-$75,000 a year.
Schedule
Roto-Rooter provides an initial 12 weeks of paid sewer and drain service training, plus continuing training is available if you want to learn the plumbing trade and pursue a journeyman plumber’s license.
