DOT Compliance Coordinator
Responsibilities
Aid the Transportation Compliance Manager in developing, implementing, standardizing, and managing the company's Transportation Compliance Programs, such as CMV files, DOT Driver Qualification Files, drug/alcohol programs, vehicle inspections, hours of service, driver training, etc.
Collaborate with the DOT Compliance Manager to establish standardized processes for driver background checks, pre-employment medical screenings, DOT physicals, previous employer release of information, etc., working closely with Human Resources and Operations personnel as needed.
Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and follow-up actions with Project Operations and Safety staff, and promote learning across the organization for all vehicle crashes involving Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs).
Implement and oversee proactive systems to ensure compliance with company requirements, federal and state DOT regulations, and collaborate with Project Operations and Safety staff to address these requirements.
Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure effective and consistent implementation of regulatory and internal requirements across all company locations.
Stay informed about pending and upcoming changes to federal and state DOT regulations, ensuring the company is prepared for future compliance requirements.
Prepare for and represent the company during state and federal DOT audits, and monitor DOT driver hours and Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) to ensure compliance.
Create and distribute detailed reports related to driver Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, driver compliance, and other reports as requested from the company's current ELD and telematics system.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of federal and state DOT, health and safety regulations.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, capable of directing and achieving priorities, goals, and strategies with minimal supervision.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulations and other regulatory documents.
Proficiency in using computers and typical production software (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
GeoTab ELD experience is preferred.
