About the role

We are hiring a DOT Compliance Specialist in Rancho Cordova, CA. The position is open and pays $75-90K depending on experience, with a 10% bonus and monthly auto allowance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safety Culture Leadership: Champion the "Zero Incident" mindset, fostering a proactive culture where associates are empowered to submit "Good Catch" reports and incident notifications.
  • Elite Training & Coaching: Deliver the Smith Training program and provide hands-on coaching to new and tenured drivers, ensuring expertise in fundamental routing and tool utilization.
  • Train new front line leaders in all aspects of DOT compliance.
  • Oversee all facets of DOT compliance, including HM 126F, security training, and the administration of rigorous road tests and commercial vehicle inspections.
  • Leverage advanced systems such as Tenstreet for Driver Qualification Files (DQF), Lytx for safety camera coaching, and Omnitracs for Hours of Service monitoring.
  • Lead internal DOT and SMS compliance audits, conduct accident investigations, and participate in incident review committees to recommend sophisticated corrective actions.
  • Career Development: Direct and evaluate the Regional Driver Mentor Program, ensuring seamless onboarding and continuous proficiency for all associates.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in a safety-related capacity within relevant industries.
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of DOT and OSHA rules and regulations and training requirements.
  • Frequent travel (occasional overnight) across the region to ensure facility excellence.
  • Effective interpersonal and group communication skills and the analytical ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or occupational safety preferred, or a similar discipline that would be considered relevant to this position.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is preferred.
  • SAP or similar software system experience.
  • Intermediate skills operating a computer in Windows based environment is recommended.
