About the role
The Security and Emergency Services department at Devonshire by Erickson Senior Living is seeking an experienced Emergency Dispatcher to manage multiple Security & EMS systems from a central location. This role involves dispatching both emergency and routine calls for service, building a rapport with residents and visitors through personalized customer service and hospitality, and ensuring safety and security.Responsibilities
- Track all pertinent information during your shift, initiating the first level of the incident report for Security and Emergency Services Officer completion
- Maintain situational awareness and composure while dealing with emergencies, ambiguity, and new challenges
- Monitor the Emergency Call System for independent living residents
- Track the status of residents involved in emergency situations
- Monitor the Fire Alarm System
- Dispatch ambulance, private ambulances, or 911 as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in 911 call-taking/dispatching or Emergency Medical Services preferred
- Effective communication skills with residents, visitors, and staff at all levels
Qualifications
- The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) requires all new hires to successfully complete and pass an extensive Level 2 background screening, which covers U.S. Federal, State and City checks (submitting fingerprints), prior to the start of employment.
