Director, Strategic Vendor Management

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Strategic Vendor Management to join the team of a leader in the Legal & Accounting space. This leader will oversee strategic vendor relationships and govern a portfolio of critical external partners that support core business operations. The role will drive vendor strategy, performance oversight, and risk management while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and executive leadership. This position is well suited for a procurement-focused operations leader who can strengthen service delivery, enhance accountability, and improve outcomes across key vendor programs. Location: Boston, MA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Serve as executive relationship owner for key vendors
• Develop long-term vendor strategies and performance roadmaps
• Establish vendor scorecards and manage performance KPIs
• Lead quarterly business reviews to assess vendor performance
• Act as senior escalation point for vendor service issues
• Oversee vendor onboarding, procurement governance, and risk management activities
• Monitor travel vendor relationships and strategic program development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus
• 10+ years of experience in vendor management and procurement
• Experience in law or financial services preferred
• Proven ability to lead complex vendor relationships
• Strong skills in developing vendor strategies and governance frameworks
• Experience with budget management and financial performance oversight
• Excellent executive communication and relationship management skills

Pay

$220,000 – $250,000 annually
