Director, Strategic Vendor Management

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Strategic Vendor Management to join the team of a leader in the Legal & Accounting space. This role will lead strategic vendor relationships across the organization, with a strong focus on governance, performance management, and service optimization. The director will partner closely with internal stakeholders to shape vendor strategy, improve outcomes, and ensure external service providers support broader business priorities. This position also owns key escalation paths and helps drive disciplined oversight of vendor spend and performance in a professional services environment. Location: Los Angeles, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the executive relationship owner for key vendors
• Develop long-term vendor strategies and roadmaps
• Evaluate opportunities for vendor consolidation and service enhancement
• Establish and manage vendor scorecards and performance standards
• Lead quarterly business reviews and performance monitoring
• Serve as the senior escalation point for service-related issues
• Oversee the Vendor Management Office and ensure alignment with business objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
• 10+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or related fields
• Experience leading complex vendor relationships and initiatives
• Familiarity with law firm or professional services environments preferred
• Strong skills in developing vendor strategies and governance frameworks
• Budget management experience essential
• Demonstrated ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders

Pay

$220,000 – $250,000 annually
