About the role

The Director of Youth Ministries is the primary architect and leader of the mission and ministry for students in grades 6–12. The core objective is to create a Christ-centered, biblically-based program that moves beyond "event-based" ministry toward a sustainable structure built on relationships with Jesus and one another. This leader will foster a tradition-rich environment where faith is rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a supportive church community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry plan aligned with the church’s vision and values.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and other church leaders to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Plan and execute regular events and activities that engage students in spiritual growth and community building.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate youth ministry initiatives into the overall church strategy.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students and their families, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of youth ministry staff and volunteers.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., theology, education, youth ministry) or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in youth ministry or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate youth.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and backgrounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Passion for youth ministry and a deep commitment to Christian faith.
  • Experience in developing and leading youth-focused programs.
  • Knowledge of youth development theories and best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Skills

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience with technology and social media platforms.
