Director of Youth Ministry
About the role
The Director of Youth Ministry will create space for youth and their families to experience their faith fully through youth worship experiences, service projects, youth group meetings, and intergenerational relationship building. They will empower volunteers to embody their gifts through the ministries of the Church and come with wonder and a willingness to explore the depths of faith and discipleship with the youth and families of Mountain Park UMC. The Director will also supervise any staff or contractors involved in ministries for youth (Sixth Grade through age 18).
Responsibilities
- Create and lead youth worship experiences
- Plan and facilitate service projects
- Organize and lead youth group meetings
- Build intergenerational relationships
- Empower volunteers to embody their gifts
- Explore the depths of faith and discipleship with youth and families
- Supervise staff or contractors involved in youth ministries
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Two (2) - Three (3) years of experience in Youth Ministry Preferred
- Candidates for Ministry in the UMC are encouraged to apply

- Passion for working with adolescents
- Understanding of Wesleyan/United Methodist theology and mission
- Openness to learn and grow into the position

Pay
- Compensation commensurate with experience
Schedule
- Part-time, 20-25 hours per week
- Work on Sunday mornings and other designated times during the week
