About the role
The Director of Nursing (DON) leads and manages nursing services to ensure high-quality care for residents in a long-term care facility. They oversee the nursing department and provide 24-hour supervision, assuming operational responsibilities in the absence of the Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage Nursing Services according to physician orders and resident needs
- Direct Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care
- Assume responsibility for center operations in the Administrator's absence
Requirements
- Licensed RN in the state of practice
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Prior experience in a LTC/SNF/AL/MC setting
- Two years of experience in a nurse supervisory role
