About the role
The Director of Finance at Crescent Hotels & Resorts is responsible for overseeing financial operations, protecting hotel assets, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and Crescent standards. This role is remote eligible within the United States, with regular travel required.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates the financial impact on business decisions and promptly notifies management of any financial deviations from established policies or control weaknesses in the hotel.
- Manages and communicates cash flow related issues to management and ownership, including the accurate and timely preparation of cash-flow statements, management of receivables, cash balances, control mechanisms, and timely deposits of all funds.
- Maintains accurate and timely financial reporting, ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguards hotel assets.
- Ensures hotels comply with all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and properly execute all operational taxes.
- Coordinates the completion of all forecasts and budgets, assists management in enforcing compliance on all items, and analyzes financial data and operations to assist and advise management in maintaining financial objectives.
- Establishes and audits internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit extension, inventories, hotel assets, master keys, payroll, and employee records.
- Hires and recruits professional staff, assists in recruiting, reviewing, recommending, and maintaining an inventory of qualified and promotable Associates that can potentially become Controllers, Assistant Controllers, Accounting Managers, and other managers for the organization.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of related progressive experience in hotel Accounting or related field; or a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/Finance concentration and a minimum of 4 years of related progressive experience; or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience.
- Proficient in financial and accounting procedures.
- Fluency in English language (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential.
Qualifications
