About the role
The Director of Finance directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the department's and organization's mission, values, and objectives. This role is responsible for directing financial operations and ensuring the smooth running of finances through effective oversight of internal controls, reporting, policy implementation, and the improvement of financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Directs financial operations and ensures the smooth running of finances through effective oversight of internal controls, reporting, policy implementation, and the improvement of financial processes.
- Sets and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Prepares monthly financial statements, coordinates and directs the annual external audits, and performs monthly and annual accounting period closings.
- Maintains the general ledger and supervises accountants.
- Interfaces with all levels of the organization and external vendors to ensure efficient, effective service delivery.
- Seeks opportunities for ongoing automation and efficiency.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited College or University
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- 3-5+ years of supervisory experience
- Proficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Proficient knowledge of internal controls over the general ledger, payroll, and accounts payable
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly effective communication skills—strong written communications and platform presentation abilities
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience as a hospital or Healthcare System Director of Finance or Director of Finance that includes separate physician practice and foundation entities
Skills
- Proficient knowledge of Meditech Expanse
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Pay
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
