About the role

Responsibilities
- Evaluate the financial impact of business decisions and promptly notify management of any deviations from established policies or control weaknesses.
- Manage and communicate cash flow issues to management and ownership, including accurate preparation of cash-flow statements, management of receivables, cash balances, and timely deposits.
- Ensure accurate recording of hotel revenues and expenses in accordance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts guidelines.
- Investigate and critique variances to budget or prior year, offering practical improvement strategies to management.
- Monitor the capital planning process, assisting management with calculations of return on capital improvements, supporting the bid process, and evaluating scope of work and specifications.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes, providing assistance to management in enforcing compliance.
- Coordinate the completion of forecasts and budgets, actively participating in the EC Team and department managers' processes.
- Analyze financial data and operations to assist and advise management in maintaining financial objectives.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations, and audit all internal financial controls.
- Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff, including coaching, counseling, and discipline.
- Maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the hotel.
- Direct and/or prepare all financial reports in accordance with IHR requirements, meeting various due dates and deadlines.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of related progressive experience in hotel accounting or a combination of a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/Finance concentration and 4 years of related progressive experience, or a 2-year college degree and 6 years of related progressive experience.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
- Experience in managing cash flow, preparing financial reports, and overseeing budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of hotel accounting practices and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
