Director of Finance - Hotel Vance

Essential Job Functions

• Evaluate the financial impact of business decisions on the hotel.
• Promptly notify management and ownership of financial deviations and control weaknesses.
• Manage and communicate cash flow issues to management and ownership.
• Accurately and timely prepare cash-flow statements, manage receivables, and control cash balances.
• Ensure accurate recording of hotel revenues and expenses in accordance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts guidelines.
• Investigate and critique variances to budget or prior year, offering improvement strategies.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational taxes.
• Coordinate the completion of forecasts and budgets, working closely with the EC Team and department managers.
• Analyze financial data and operations to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
• Establish and audit internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, credit extension, inventories, hotel assets, master keys, payroll, and employee records.
• Hire, train, supervise, and develop staff, including coaching, counseling, and discipline.
• Maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts standards and regulations.
• Direct or prepare financial reports in accordance with IHR requirements, meeting various due dates and deadlines.

Education & Experience

• A minimum of 8 years of related progressive experience in hotel Accounting or related field;
• Or a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/Finance concentration and a minimum of 4 years of related progressive experience;
• Or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience.
