About the role
The Director of Business Development is responsible for growing existing client relationships and generating new opportunities that support long-term profitability. This role centers on strategic relationship development, market analysis, and identifying future revenue streams across key markets.
Responsibilities
- Engage directly with clients, community partners, joint ventures, and industry stakeholders to strengthen Boldt’s presence and position for future work.
- Partner closely with marketing, preconstruction, and operations teams to develop and execute business development plans aligned with company goals.
- Maintain strong market intelligence, lead pursuit strategies, and drive collaboration across teams.
- Play a critical role in expanding Boldt’s footprint and delivering sustained growth in competitive markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field, MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 7 to 10 years of AEC or professional services business development experience with strong relationship management and communication skills.
- Prominent ability to build client relationships, drive strategy, and influence stakeholders through strong presentation and leadership skills.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on outcomes, continuous improvement, and leading change within a collaborative environment.
- Nice to have experience developing business in healthcare or other highly regulated markets.
- Established network of architects, engineers, and industry partners in Southern California.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory environments such as HCAI.
- Experience leading proposals, interviews, and using CRM tools for pipeline tracking.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this position is $152,000.00–$202,000.00 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
